Two days in Paris

the brightest day we have ever had in Paris / carousel at Hotdel de Ville / Trocadero / the tower / creative street art / Pont des Arts / Musée d'Orsay / red nose on a statue / freezing my pants off for a good shot / by the Seine / Île Saint-Louis / carousel / Notre Dame / photo in the rain / Hotel de Ville / bistro tables / underneath the Eiffel Tower

So here we are at the last stop on the whirlwind honeymoon - two days in Paris. Having been to Paris a few times before, we could relax and not stress about having to take in all the big attractions. Instead, the short stay was based around long walks and soaking in the beauty of Paris without actually going inside the landmarks. But Paris is so beautiful viewed from the banks of the Seine or up at the Trocadero that you can easily do things this way without feeling like you're missing out.

We were lucky enough to stay with a friend in her lovely apartment in the 16th arrondissement which provided a fantastic base to go out and eat tart tatin, buy cult French pharmacy products, pose in front of the Eiffel Tower and hunt for shoes in the Saint Germain area. The only thing we didn't squeeze into the weekend was some macaroons from Laduree, but we have the next time to do that. Because with Paris, there's always a next time.

Thanks for coming along with us on our honeymoon. It's been fun sharing the adventures we have had, especially since it will be the last big holiday we will be doing for a while. Instead we are now focusing on trips around the east coast of Australia while we save for a house and plan a US trip (my first time!) possibly for mid next year. But who knows where we might decide to go at a moment's notice!

Oh and I love the colours of that outdoor patio. I wish we had more outdoor patios like that here in Canada, it makes me miss Europe so much. I've really enjoyed seeing all of your lovely photos. : )
